Natural gas, whether CNG, LNG or RNG (renewable natural gas), continues to broaden its appeal and range of applications as a fuel for transportation. As such, NGV Global looks forward to delivering a multi-stream event that incorporates road, water and rail sectors.

ANGP has been committed to bringing low-pressure on-board natural gas technology to the motor vehicle world since 2012.   We are in business to design, develop, manufacture, sell and service low-pressure on-board ANG storage technology, and related products, for all classes of motor vehicles.

Ingevity develops and manufactures the activated carbon monoliths that are the core of ANGP’s storage system. ANGP and UTRC have an exclusive licensing agreement that allows ANGP to use UTRC’s patented and patent-pending technology to develop and produce the world’s first commercially viable conformable, adsorbent-based low-pressure (<1000 psi) composite storage tank for motor vehicles.

 Are you launching anything new in the coming months? Can you tell us more about it? 

ANGP will be launching the vehicle industry’s first low-pressure conformable Type IV ANG tank in 2017, based on technology developed by UTRC under U.S. Department of Energy, Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E) sponsorship. ANGP is the exclusive global licensee of this UTRC technology for the adsorbent-based natural gas vehicles market and is working with A. Schulman to commercially develop and manufacture the conformable ANG tank. ANG technology enables a more economical hybrid (natural gas and gasoline) vehicle alternative for private refueling compared to hybrid electric vehicles and high-pressure compressed natural gas (CNG) bi-fuel hybrid vehicles in the light duty vehicle market. Conformable tank technology allows ANG tanks to be located beneath a vehicle, freeing up valuable cargo space that typically would be occupied by bulky cylinders. 

What can we expect to see from you at NGV Global 2017? 

ANGP and Ingevity will both be giving presentations on ANG technology for the natural gas vehicle market in Breakout Session 8 (Vehicle Markets). Our coalition members will be jointly exhibiting in the Exhibit Hall in Booth B-01.

 What are you most looking forward to at NGV Global 2017?

As our coalition’s initial market focus has been in the United States, we look forward to discussing the potential of low-pressure ANG technology for the light duty vehicle market in other countries around the world.
